Grupo Aluman promotes quality throughout its operations. In recent years we have obtained the most demanding certifications to guarantee all our work, and we have pioneered quality improvement. Our aim: to continuously improve our processes and reduce our ecological footprint.
Martín Rey Responsible R&D and innovation
Since 2008 we have been certified under ISO 166002, an R&D management system for design, production and management of our aluminium and PVC carpentry facility. We are the first company in the sector to have this certification, reaffirming our commitment to quality and product development through R&D.
We haven’t forgotten our industrial origins, with manufacturing facilities at our disposal which are cutting-edge in technology and capacity. For that reason, we invest considerably in innovation, in order to obtain heightened flexibility and competitiveness, an important part of our competitive edge.
Martín Rey, an industrial engineer with more than 10 years of experience at the company, is in charge of R&D. He takes care of product development and research and also the maintenance of the quality certifications we have here at Aluman.
All the group’s research activities are coordinated from the R&D area, for example, innovation regarding processes, methods and machinery, and products. The solutions are the answer to difficulties we come up against on a daily basis. In order to develop these solutions we have an R&D laboratory which allows us to improve the technical characteristics of our products and the efficiency of our processes.
All of our new and improved products are tested in the test bed and the testing laboratory, which allows us to check the prototypes and offer the best performance regarding soundproofing, heat insulation, water and air tightness, wind/fire-proofing, etc.
Among the important achievements of the group, the following particularly stand out:
With the development of the modular curtain wall system, the department managed to bind together diverse solutions with just one design by taking advantage of the same accessories and rubber for constructing façades from monolithic glass, double glass façades, stick curtain walls, glass bonding…
System development for the expansion of Tocumén Airport.
It reduces the onsite installation time, favours the sustainability of the environment and reduces the energy used. At the same time, it allows for the installation of elements of the size required for each individual project, which increases the creative freedom of the architects and designers.
